Critical Thinking Lab
In relation to our individualized learning approach, we are also starting a Critical Thinking Lab, overseen by Mrs. Lewis. She has done this for other schools, and we are thrilled to incorporate it here at New Hope. This 45-minute period will be for all students, 3rd – 8th, and will provide an opportunity for students to get enrichment in areas of interest, as well supplemental support in academic areas. We will have more information on that particular program later this summer.
The Critical Thinking Lab is a 45-minute session each day for all students, 3rd grade and up. Each daily session begins with a critical thinking exercise for each student to work through, based on the appropriate age level.
Once the student has worked through the critical thinking exercise, each student will have their own prescribed curriculum to work on in a blended online learning scenario, with an educational facilitator. It will be designed specifically for each student, based on individual student indicators, through initial assessments of learning styles, brain styles, emotions and talents/personalities, done at the first of the school year.
It is our desire to use our Critical Thinking Lab as a way to allow each student to investigate areas of interest, formulate critical thinking, and enhance learning in all academic areas.
