Stephanie Mitchell, NHCA Educator
I always knew that I wanted to work with children in some capacity as that is where my heart is. I worked at a Montessori school for several years before moving into the corporate world to better aid my college education. While there, I really missed working with children, but time got the best of me. Before I knew it, I was working on my 6th year at my job and becoming more and more discontent. I consistently felt that God was trying to push me out ever so gently but I wasn’t listening; so instead, He made His plans evident. I was apart of a mass layoff with my company. At the time, I was scared and felt unwanted; but it was the biggest blessing ever! It forced me to do some soul searching and figure out what I really wanted to do in life, which ultimately led me back to teaching. I knew I wanted to be in a Christian school because I witnessed the joy it brought to my husband, and I fell in love with it! The opportunity to teach at New Hope came at a perfect time and organically fell into place; this is where God was leading me the whole time and I am so grateful for the chance!
